This week in my life drawing class, we had a substitute teacher. At first I was not happy with this as he had a different way of teaching pastels. He said "Just tear into it!" I being a methodical sketchy applier of medium, have never used so much of the sides of my pastels.

I love the way this turned out. (40 min)

The only thing from the pastel drawing are the outlines. Everything else is 'painted' in Photoshop.

This was my last drawing of that night, so I decided to stop being so delicate with the pastels. I like the effect of the smearing with the negative space.
